Tilt the unit back. Check for and remove any Diamond tools 2
Check shroud for damages affecting the planetary rotation, satellite rotation, planetary seal
efficiency and extraction efficiency

Unplug the planetary drive to reduce operating noise. Run the discs through the range of speeds
listening for bearing noises caused by broken bearings

Unplug the small motor and run discs at low speed and check how discs are running. 5
Check the condition of belt and that the inside of the machine is clean 10
Check the headlocks and tighten if needed (3 per satellite) 5
Check movements of the satellites. If not running correctly, disassemble all heads. 15
Check the spring steel leaf and spring cushion carefully for wear 10
Check dust seals for wear 5
Unplug large motor and replace small motor. Run the planetary head through the range of
speeds and listen to operation.

Check condition of sprocket and chainring of the planetary drive gearbox. Replace if needed. 5
When planetary drive is removed, check for dust on the top surface. Check the condition of the
planetary head seal. Replace if needed.
