WARNING
Although the TEG-1000 has a perspex safety shield through which
the grinding process can be safely observed, Huntingdon Fusion
Techniques HFT

strongly advises every user of a Tungsten Electrode
Grinding machine to wear safety goggles and ear protection when
grinding.
The TEG-1000 is a simple grinding machine where the wheel rotates
behind a safety shield. Nevertheless, it is good workshop practice
to not wear any loose articles of clothing, such as ties, oversize
shirts, jewellery etc.
Furthermore, we also strongly advise users of the TEG-1000 Tungsten
Electrode Grinder (and any other Tungsten Electrode Grinder) to
only use geniune Techweld
®
MultiStrike
®
Tungsten Electrodes which
are free of radioactive thoria.
Thoriated tungstens produce radioactive and carcinogenic dust
and users should wear the correct protective equipment to avoid
breathing in thoriated tungsten electrode dust.
Grinding must take place on the face of the wheel as instructed and
not on the edge of the wheel.
