6.8 RoHS and WEEE Directives
RoHS - The sensor has been designed to comply with the RoHS directive and contains
no hazardous components listed by this directive.
The Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive restricts the use of
certain toxic substances, such as lead, in printed circuit boards.
WEEE - The European Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
Directive aims to reduce the amount of WEEE going to landfill, by requiring all
manufacturers and producers to take responsibility for what happens to the products
they sell at the end of their lives. Hummingbird will comply with this directive and
responsibly dispose of the components that are present in the build if sensors are
returned to Hummingbird for disposal.
Hummingbird will advise OEMs on how to dispose of components if requested.
