The fans are installed on the left side of the chassis for heat dissipation.

The MA5606T has four board slots, of which:

!

Slot 0 is located on the upper left side of the chassis. It houses the power supply board.

!

Slot 1 is located on the upper right side of the chassis. It houses the main control board.

!

The main control board is wider than the power supply board. This helps to avoid
mis-insertion.

!

The service board is wider than both the main control board and the power supply board.
This helps to avoid mis-insertion.

!

The number of service and splitter (SPL) boards to be configured depends on the service
types and traffic volumes.

The service boards reside in slots 2 and 3.

The SPL board resides only in slot 2.

2.1.2 Hardware Components

Table 2-2 lists the hardware components of the MA5606T. The chassis, power, fan and
backplane are mandatory, while the service boards and SPL boards can be configured based
on the actual service needs.
