There is a risk of electric shock when handling the Phoenix connector. To
avoid electric shock, ensure that the L/N/PE wires are connected in
sequence.
Ensure that there are no exposed metal parts after the power cable is
connected to the Phoenix connector.
The PAC-260WA-E 260 W AC power module is an independent power module that uses 220 V AC input and
provides 56 V DC output. Use this power module to supply power to the S5720I-12X-PWH-SI-DC switch if only
the 220 V AC power supply is available.

Installing the PAC-260WA-E Power Module
The PAC-260WA-E and S5720I-12X-PWH-SI-DC have the same dimensions and installation method. They are installed
in the same cabinet using mounting ears. They can be installed in the same 1 U space (one in front of the other).
Connecting the switch to the PAC-260WA-E Power Module
Use a wire stripper to peel about 7 mm length of insulation coating off one end of the positive and negative
cables. Press and hold the spring in the middle of the Phoenix connector, insert the bare wires of the power
cable into the socket according to the sequence shown in the figure, and release the spring to lock the
cable.
Insert the Phoenix connector into the DC input port on the switch and the DC output port on the power
module, and tighten the screws on both sides of the Phoenix connector.
Use a wire stripper to peel about 7 mm length of insulation coating off one end of the live wire/neutral wire/ground
cable (L/N/PE cable). Press and hold the spring in the middle of the Phoenix connector, insert the bare wires of the
power cable into the socket according to the sequence shown in the figure, and release the spring to lock the cable.
Insert the Phoenix connector into the AC input port on the switch or power module, and tighten the screws on both
sides of the Phoenix connector.
Connect the other end of the AC power cable to the 220 V mains.

WARNING
AC power input ports must be used with Phoenix connectors. Phoenix
connectors are included in the auxiliary material package delivered with
the switch.
For the S5720I-12X-PWH-SI-DC switch, DC power input ports are available.
A newly delivered device is configured locally through the console port.
The USB port is used for device deployment and configuration/upgrade file transfer.
A network cable connects to an Ethernet electrical port to send and
receive data services.
Before connecting an optical fiber, check whether the fiber connector is
contaminated. If so, use an air-laid cotton or a fiber cleaner to clean the
fiber connector.
Monitoring ports must be used with Phoenix connectors. Phoenix
connectors are included in the auxiliary material package delivered with
the switch.
Monitoring ports can be used to detect the status of external devices, for
example, to monitor the opening and closing of the cabinet door.
