This cellular phone is designed to
conform to the Japanese technical
regulations relating to the human body
absorption of radio waves (※) and
tolerable limits for radiation protection
that are recommended by equivalent
international guidelines. These
international guidelines were set out by
the International Commission on Non-
Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), a
partner to the World Health
Organization (WHO), and their tolerable
limits allow for an adequate factor of
safety, regardless of the user's age or
health conditions.
The Japanese technical regulations and
international guidelines define such
tolerance limits for radiation protection
in terms of a specific absorption rate
(SAR), which represents the average
rate at which the radio frequency
energy is absorbed by the human body.
The SAR tolerance limit for this cell
phone is 2.0 W/kg. The highest SAR
value for this cellular phone when
tested for use at the head (or ear) is
1.077 W/kg and when worn on the body
is 0.317 W/kg. Individual products all
satisfy this SAR tolerance limit, though
there may be slight difference in SAR
level among individual products.
