Speaker assembly
Before removing the speaker assembly, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
“Battery” on page 4-7
).
5. Remove the top cover (see
“Top cover” on page 4-8
).
Remove the speaker assembly:
1. Remove the Phillips PM1.5×3.0 screw

that secures the mass storage device bracket to the base enclosure.
The mass storage device bracket is included in the Hard Drive Mounting Kit, spare part number 538330-001,
and the Solid-state Drive Mounting Kit, spare part number 538331-001.
2. Release the mass storage device bracket

by lifting the right side of the bracket until it rests at an angle.
