Removal and replacement procedures
Digital Media Slot board
Before removing the Digital Media Slot board, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
“Battery” on page 4-7
).
5. Remove the top cover (see
“Top cover” on page 4-8
).
Remove the Digital Media Slot board:
1. Disconnect the Digital Media Slot board cable

from the system board.
2. Remove the Digital Media Slot board cable from the clip

built into the power connector bracket.
3. Remove the three Phillips PM2.0×4.0 screws

that secure the Digital Media Slot board to the base enclosure.
4. Release the Digital Media Slot board by lifting the front edge

of the board until it rests at an angle.
5. Remove the Digital Media Slot board

by sliding it away from the computer at an angle.
Reverse this procedure to install the Digital Media Slot board.
