Notebook Identification
The data in this screen is needed by HP Toptools to provide information about this device. You may enter
it directly if you are installing the agents locally at the notebook. If you are installing the agents with a
software distribution product like DTA or SMS, you will need to provide this information later, in one of two
ways:
•
You may enter the information at each PC locally, one at a time, using the local HP Toptools
interface, or
•
You may enter the information remotely using HP Toptools Device Manager.
Asset Information
The serial number is automatically coded on newer machines. For older machines, you will get a screen
asking for the serial number as well as the asset number.
If you are using an alternate scheme for asset numbers, you should change this entry.
