Hardware Operator’s Guide

CAUTION:
You must insert the cartridge properly or you will damage the drive.
Fully insert and seat the cartridge into the drive. Make sure that the
cartridge has a readable VOLSER.

5. Hold the cartridge so that the VOLSER is facing you, as shown in Figure 3–11.

6. Insert the cartridge into the shuttle and push the cartridge into the back of the

drive until it is firmly seated.

7. Push the shuttle all the way back, pause for about two seconds, then release the

shuttle.

CAUTION:
If the cartridge has been ejected from the drive, you must remove it
from the shuttle before you can reload it into the drive. Otherwise, the
shuttle will become jammed by simultaneously holding onto the
cartridge and lowering the handle. If this happens, release the
cartridge from the shuttle latch under the right side of the cartridge.
Then push the cartridge into the drive and lower the handle.
