Physical proxy
This configuration is for larger environments, and delivers the highest performance for ESX and ESXi servers. This
architecture runs vRanger on a dedicated physical machine connected to the VMware shared storage. A performance
advantage of the physical proxy is that it offloads the backup processes from the VMware servers and enables a
LAN-free backup. Physical servers generally have more processing power than virtual machines so are a sensible
option for large VMware installations where performance must not be effected by backups.
