MSL5000 Series Library User Guide

Maintenance

Updating the Firmware

MSL5000 series libraries can be flashed using the Remote Management Interface or
the

MSL5000Util.exe

diagnostic utility and diagnostic cable.

Updating via the Remote Management Interface

To update the firmware using the Remote Management Interface you need LAN
connection to the library or an Ethernet connection to the World Wide Web.

1. Login to the Remote Management Interface.

NOTE:

See Chapter 5 for additional information on setting up and using the Remote

Management Interface.

2. Click Functions.

3. Scroll down to Library Flash Operation.

4. Select Flash Library from Remote File or Flash Library from Local File.

NOTE:

If you select Flash Library from Local File, the *.bin file must be copied to the /upload

directory, which is located on the library at the IP Address/upload.

5. Click Start the Flash. The library firmware automatically updates.

6. The library will reboot. Verify the firmware level has been updated successfully.
