Step 9a – Mandatory – Select AlphaServer SC System Software

•

For each type of node, choose a combination of licenses that adds up to as many, or more, nodes as there are symmetric multiprocessors

(nodes) configured in Step 1 and 2. Do not order any additional licenses for the Management Server, since the AlphaServer SC System

Software licenses allow the software to be used for management, on up to two Management Servers.

•

As an example, a system with one Management Server, 48 DS20L nodes and 4 ES40 nodes can be licensed by combining one 16-DS20L

node license (QM-6EQAD-AB) and one 32-DS20L node license (QM-6EQAD-AC) with four 1-ES40 node license (QM-6EQAA-AA).

Choose a combination of licenses that match, or exceed, the number of nodes in the AlphaServer SC20. As an example, a system with 48

DS20L nodes and 4 ES40 nodes can be licensed for AlphaServer Development Software by combining one 16-node license (QM-6ERAA-AB)

and one 32- node license (QM-6ERAA-AC) with four 1-node licenses (QM-6ERAA-AA).
