To remove a processor and its heatsink:
1.
Complete the preparation procedures. Refer to “Preparation Procedures” earlier in this
chapter.
2.
Remove the access panel. Refer to “Access Panel” earlier in this chapter.
3.
Carefully lay the server on its unexposed side to gain access to the system board.
4.
Locate the processor and heatsink assembly on the system board.
5.
Disconnect the cooling fan connector from the system board.
6.
Loosen the four screws securing the heatsink.

7.
Lift the heatsink away from the processor and out of the server.
