Removal and replacement procedures

Maintenance and Service Guide

4. Turn the computer display-side up, with the front toward you.

5. Open the computer as far as possible.

6. If the computer is equipped with a fingerprint reader, release the ZIF connector to which the fingerprint reader

board cable

is attached, and then disconnect the fingerprint reader board cable

from the system board.

7. Lift the front edge of the palm rest

until it rests at an angle, and then slide the palm rest forward

until it

detaches from the computer.

8. If the computer is equipped with a fingerprint reader, remove the fingerprint reader board cable from the

opening

in the top cover.

9. Remove the palm rest.

Reverse this procedure to install the palm rest.
