Optical drive connector cable

The optical drive connector cable is included in the Cable Kit.

Before removing the optical drive connector cable, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the following components:
a. Service door (see Service door on page 31 ).
b. Optical drive ( Optical drive on page 32 )
c. Hard drive ( Hard drive on page 34 )
d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 41 )
e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 48 )
f. Battery (see Battery on page 62 )
Remove the optical drive connector cable:
1. Position the computer upright on a flat surface.
2. Disconnect the optical drive connector cable from the system board (1).
3. Remove the cable from the clips built into the computer (2).
