Before disassembling the computer, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet,
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 41
).
Remove the access door:
1.
Position the computer upside-down on a flat surface, with the battery bay toward you.
2.
Remove the locking screw (if installed)

and slide the access door release latches

to
release the cover.
3.
Slide the door toward the front of the computer, and then lift the door off the computer

NOTE:
The access door screw may be placed in the secure slot
(4)
for safekeeping while the
cover is removed or if the screw is not inserted after replacing the access door.
Reverse the removal procedures to install the access door.
