Optical drive connector cable

The optical drive connector is secured with two screws, and one eyelet screw secures the cable to
the computer. The connector has two cables that connect to the system board.

To remove the optical drive connector:
1.
Prepare the computer for disassembly (see

).
2.
Remove the rear cover (see
Rear Cover on page 34
).
3.
Remove the optical drive (see

).
4.
Remove the system board cover (see
System Board Cover on page 49
).
5.
Remove two screws
(1)
that secure the optical drive connector to the computer.
6.
Remove eyelet screw
(2)
that secures the optical drive cable to the computer.
7.
Remove cable from the metal tabs
(3)
built into the computer.
