The HP VISUALIZE fx6 Texture Module Accessory
The HP VISUALIZE fx6 Texture Module Accessory
The HP Kayak XW Series 0480 model contains an HP VISUALIZE fx6 video
board with 18 MB of SGRAM installed memory.
An additional 32 MB of SDRAM texture memory can be added by installing a
texture module. This texture module (D6795A) is only available as an
accessory for the HP VISUALIZE fx6 video board.
NOTE
A similar texture module, supplying 18 MB of memory, exists for the HP
VISUALIZE fx4 video board used in the previous HP Kayak XW PC
Workstation models. These two texture modules cannot be interchanged.
The texture module for the HP VISUALIZE fx6 video board has two
connector strips, which plug into two matching sockets. If there is no
texture module installed, one of these sockets (the longer one of the two)
will contain a terminator. The second socket remains empty. The video
board will not work without a terminator installed.
NOTE The sockets are concealed beneath a short strengthening bar, which should
be removed before installing the texture module.
To install the texture module, you must first remove the HP VISUALIZE fx6
video board. When you have installed the texture module, reboot the PC
workstation. The texture module is automatically detected by the HP
VISUALIZE fx6 driver.

which is delivered with the accessory. The following are just basic steps to
remove and replace the HP VISUALIZE fx6 board.
