Connect the 10/100 Base T switch to the site’s LAN with a
standard RJ45 CAT5 cable.

Local Gigabit Ethernet switchbox:
Verify that the ‘link’ LED on each module that has a cable
connected is illuminated green.
• Check Connections
— Verify that all cables are firmly connected.
— Verify that the appropriate power and cooling specifications
have been met before powering on.
2. Boot up
BOOT AND RESPOND TO PROMPTS ON THE MASTER SYSTEM
BEFORE BOOTING THE SLAVES.
• You will be prompted for hostnames, IP addresses and other
system and network settings that will be assigned to each of the
systems.
• When prompted, power on slave workstations and other
components.
• Run set_parms on each system to configure any other network
settings that need to be changed.
3. Run Verification Test
• Login to the Master system as root
• init3
• Open a terminal window in CDE.
• Run
/opt/graphics/OpenGL/bin/setpipes -test
WARNING Do not use any other options with -test.
• Verify that a moving image consisting of a rotating triangle and
text is drawing in each green rectangle on the screen.
• Look for any anomalies in the animation that might be caused by
incorrect cabling or hardware failure. See the hp visualization
center sv6 Troubleshooting Guide if you encounter any problems.
Check the verify log for X Server errors.
• Touch any key on the keyboard or press a mouse button to exit the
animation.
• Use
CTRL+SHIFT+BREAK
to get back to the prompt.
