CAUTION:

For proper cooling, do not operate the server without the access panel, baffles, and expansion slot
covers, or blanks installed. If the server supports hot-plug components, minimize the amount of time the
access panel is open.

Procedure

1. Power down the server

.

2.

Disconnect the power cord from the power source and the server.

3. Remove the bezel

.

4.

Place the server on its side with the access panel facing up.

5.

If installed, unlock and remove the Kensington security lock.

6.

Remove the access panel:

a.

Loosen the access panel thumbscrew.

b.

Slide the access panel back.

c.

Lift the access panel away from the chassis.

To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.

Removing the air baffle

CAUTION:

For proper cooling, do not operate the server without the access panel, baffles, expansion slot covers or
blanks installed. If the server supports hot-plug components, minimize the amount of time the access
panel is open.

Procedure

1. Power down the server

.

2.

Disconnect the power cord from the power source and the server.

3. Remove the bezel

.

4.

Place the server on its side with the access panel facing up.

5. Remove the access panel

.

6.

Remove the air baffle.
