once installed, HP eVa may be upgraded with additional features (including storage) as
customer storage needs change. the options listed below would generally require configuration with
other components and services to provide a buildable solution. they are listed here as a guide only.

the eVa iSCSI Connectivity option extends the advantages of Fibre Channel SaNs into smaller departments and
remote locations. this option allows customers to incorporate iSCSI servers within SaNs without requiring additional
storage arrays or management costs. Use the eVa’s Command View software to manage the iSCSI connectivity to the
array. Supports two ethernet and two Fibre Channel ports. Supports Windows 2003, Linux redhat 3 and SuSe 8.
Base kit includes unit, shelf, brackets, cabling and documentation. Upgrade kit installs into the base kit shelf.

the VLS 12000 eVa gateway accelerates backup and restore performance in complex SaN environments by emulating
popular tape libraries and tape drives while using HP eVa as the storage pool. By emulating multiple tape drives
simultaneously, more backup jobs can be done in parallel resulting in reduced backup times and, because the data
resides on disk, single file restores are exceptionally fast.
