Installing or Replacing Parts

Removing and Replacing Access Panels

To upgrade, remove or replace system components, you need to remove one or both access 
panels from the system chassis. 

Å

WARNING: 

Never remove the system access panel(s) without first turning the system off and 

unplugging the power cord from the back of the system. Always replace the cover(s) before turning the 
workstation on.

Removing the Main System Access Panel

To remove or install most components, you only need to remove the main system access panel.

NOTE: 

The front system access panel only needs to be removed when removing the 

“Front 

Control Module” on page 3-29

 or the 

“Optical Drives (CD or DVD)” on page 3-17

.
