ip host

The

ip host

Global Configuration mode command defines static host name-to-address mapping

in the host cache. To

remove the name-to-address mapping, use the

form of this command.

Syntax

ip host

name address

no ip host

name

Parameters

name —

Name of the host (Range: 1-158 characters)

address —

Associated IP address.

Default Setting

No host is defined.

Command Mode

Global Configuration mode

Command Usage

Up to 8 host names can be configured.

Example

The following command defines a static host name-to-address mapping in the host cache.
