The
primary
purp ose
of
System
Diagnostics
is
to
detect
catastrophic
failure
in
the
sp ectrum
analyzer
and
to
determine
the
nature
of
the
failure.
A
catastrophic
failure
is
a
failure
whic
h
renders
the
instrumen
t
un
usable.
A
secondary
purp ose
of
System
Diagnostics
is
to
determine
if
an
y
soft
failures
ha
v
e
o ccurred
and
to
diagnose,
to
the
mo
dule
lev
el,
where
the
soft
failure
o ccurred.
A
soft
failure
is
dened
as
a
failure
whic
h
renders
some
circuitry
of
the
instrumen

usable

tests
are
part

System
Diagnostics
and
will
execute
automatically
if

tracking
generator

HP
70000
Series
mo
dular
sp ectrum
analyzers.

After

calibrator

without
