For the hub generator lighting system and battery pow-
ered lighting systems on pedelecs there is an integrated
switch at the front light to turn the lights on and off.
You switch on the tire dynamo by pressing the red but-
ton. To switch off the dynamo move it away from the
wheel.
Hub dynamo
The lighting system with a hub dynamo is
switched on electrically. For this purpose, you
will find a button on the back of the headlight.
A push of it turns the lighting system ON or
OFF. When activated, the headlight is always
in SENSO mode. Depending on the brightness
of the environment, the headlight operates in
“day mode” or “night mode”.
Button on headlight B&M IQ-X
The SON hub dynamo is highly efficient and
works silently. When the dynamo is turned off
it has a very low turning resistance. Although
you can feel the single poles of the used per-
manent magnets very distinctly when turning
it by hand the real rolling resistance is minute.
(The loss is below 1 W at 15 km/h / 9,5 mph.)
