Harrow Tine (Option)
The Harrow Tine is mounted to the rear of the Opener Assembly Unit. The tines can be either single or
double mounted to a spring steel support mount. The tines function is to break up and smooth out the
surface of the soil. It can also remove weed or longer field residue and spread it out to cover seed after
sowing. Harrow tines also effectively help to loosen a plowed or packed seed bed to help moisture
penetration and germinate the seed.
Maintenance
• Check the coulter arm bearing (rubber); replace if rubber is worn or in the case of weakening
tensioning force.
• Check the condition and rotation of the press wheels, check the fastening screw on the coulter
arm. Check the condition and light movement of the press for tight fit.
• Readjust the scraper on the press wheels as required.
• Check the opener discs and bearings for wear, pre-tension and light movement.
• Tighten the opener disc screws to 95-110 ft.-lbs.
• Check the scrapers and seed firmers for condition, tight fit and adjustment.
• Inspect the harrow tines and spring arm for condition and tightness.
