PROBLEM

CAUSE

SOLUTION

Fabric sags and is not tight

Fabric stretches if exposed to rain

Dry the fabric as soon as possible, 

as the fabric should not be folded up

wet.

A knocking sound is emitted 

during operation

The pergola awning brackets have not 

been tightened completely.

Make sure the pergola awning brack-

ets are tightened and have a secure 

fit properly.

The retractable screen squeaks 

during operation

The retractable screen needs lubrica-

tion

Try to identify the squeaking area 

and lubricate it as described in 

‘Cleaning and care – Frame’.

The front bar does not parallel the 

backside beam:

Adjust the bar following chapter 

„Installation“ section 13

The remote control does not 

work.

The battery is placed incorrectly.

Remove the battery and insert it cor-

rectly.

The battery is empty/malfunctioning.

Remove the battery and replace with 

a new battery while observing the 

polarity of both the battery and the
