With cleaner in “OFF/Charge” posi-
tion, plug charger into 110/120 volt
electrical outlet.
Hold cleaner with nozzle point-
ing down and opening in
cleaner is aligned with hook in wall
bracket. Slide cleaner straight
down.
Press firmly on cleaner to
ensure that end of cord is fully
connected
. Your cleaner will begin
charging. It is designed to be
stored on charge and ready for use
at all times.
Charge batteries for 16 hours
before initial use.
After that time,
the cleaner can run about 12 minutes
on the “Carpet” setting or about 16
minutes on the “Bare Floor” setting. If
performance drops to an unaccept-
able level during cleaning, refer to
the problem chart in “Maintenance”
section.
NOTE:
• It is normal for the charger to feel
warm when the battery is charging.
Never charge batteries in tempera-
tures above100o F or below 32oF.
• Charging light (A) illuminates when
cleaner is charging.
• The cleaner can be on a constant
charge so it is always ready for use.
Make sure it is in “OFF/Charge”
position before charging.
However,
if the cleaner will not be used for
several weeks at a time, unplugging
it is recommended.
How to use
ON-OFF switch and
carpet/bare floor selector
The switch has 3 positions.
1. Slide switch toward the han-
dle to turn OFF (A).
Push switch forward to turn ON for
cleaning:

For corded models:
Plug cord into electrical outlet. To
reduce risk of electric shock, this
appliance has a polarized plug (one
blade is wider than the other). This
plug will fit in a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not fit fully
in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it
still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician to install the proper outlet.
Do not change the plug in any way.

The dirt cup
Empty dirt cup after each use. It
may be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Make sure cup is thoroughly dry
before repositioning on cleaner.
How to empty
Disconnect cleaner from electrical
outlet.
Push latch (A) and pull dirt cup
away from cleaner.
While holding dirt cup, grasp filter
frame (B) and lift out filter.

Empty dirt cup. To remove
debris from filter, tap it on a
hard surface or brush it with a soft
brush.
Replace filter into dirt cup.

Note: If filter is heavily soiled,
it can be
washed in warm soapy water using a
soft brush if necessary. Rinse filter thor-
oughly. Dry filter by blotting with a towel.
Dry it
completely
before storing filter in
cleaner.
