Honeywell Disposable Particulate Respirator User Instructions
WARNING:
If you cannot achieve satisfactory fit, do NOT enter the contaminated area. See your Supervisor. Failure to follow
these instructions will result in the risk of serious illness,injury or death.
USE LIMITATIONS
1. Do
NOT
use the respirator or enter or stay in a contaminated area under the following circumstances:
a. Atmosphere contains less than 19.5% oxygen;
b. if using N protection class respirator, any atmosphere containing oil aerosols ;
c.
Contaminants or their concentrations are unknown or immediately dangerous to life or health;
d.
Concentrations or contaminants exceed maximum use concentrations in applicable OSHA
standards or applicable government regulations or 10 times the PEL (Permissible Exposure Limit),
whichever is lower.
e. For protection against asbestos in any concentration;
f.
For protection against gases or vapors;
g. While performing or observing abrasive blasting (sandblasting) operations, or for fire fighting.
h. In confined spaces such as tanks, small rooms, tunnels or vessels, unless the confined space is
well ventilated and the concentration of toxic contaminants is known to be, and will continue to be,
below the Maximum Use Concentration recommended for this respirator.
i.
When conditions prevent a good face piece to face seal. For example:
i. the growth of beards, mustaches or sideburns which will pass between the face piece
sealing area and the face;
ii. any facial piercings
or metal or other insertions therein
that interrupt the seal
between the mask and the face;
iii. the use of spectacles, goggles or other devices which interfere with the respirator;
iv. the use of head or face coverings which contain materials which will pass between the
face piece sealing area and the face; and
v.
missing teeth or dentures, facial deformities or deep scars.
2. Never substitute, modify, add, or omit parts. Discard the respirator and replace with a new one if:
a. excessive clogging of the respirator causes breathing difficulty or;
b.
the respirator becomes damaged.
3.
Immediately leave the contaminated area if:
a. breathing becomes difficult;
