EMISSIONS INFORMATION (800, 1400, 1600, 2000)
The Environmental Protection Agency (and California Air Resource
Board for generators certified to CA standards) require(s) that
this generator comply with exhaust and evaporative emission
standards. Locate the emissions compliance decal on the engine
to determine what standards the generator meets. This generator
is certified to operate on gasoline.
It is important to follow the maintenance specifications provided
in this manual to ensure that this generator complies with the
applicable emission standards for the duration of the generator’s
life. This generator is certified to operate on gasoline. The emission
control system on the generator consists of the following:
800, 1400, 1600 and 2000
• Air Induction System
– Air Cleaner
– Intake Pipe / Manifold
• Fuel System
– Carburetor
– Fuel Tank / Cap
– Fuel Lines
– Evaporative Vent Lines
• Ignition System
– Spark Plug
– Ignition Module

1600 and 2000 Only
• Exhaust System
– Catalyst
– Secondary Air Valve
UNIT IDENTIFICATION
(Figure 2)
1. Carrying Handle: Lift the generator by this handle only.
2. Spark Plug Cover: Allows access to the engine spark plug.
3. Primer Bulb: Used to prime the fuel system for starting (1600
& 2000).
4. Fuel Tank Cap: Access to fuel tank for filling.
5. Control Panel: location of generator controls and output
receptacles.
6. Air Intake Slats: Allows for cooling air to enter the housing.
7. Muffler: Lowers engine exhaust noise (includes spark arrestor
on 1400).
8. Choke: Cold engine starting aid
9. Left Side Service Cover: Allows access to air filter, fuel filter
(no fuel filter on 800W models) and oil fill.
10. Vent Hoses: Hoses allow venting of the carburetor.
11. Fuel Shutoff: Controls fuel supply to the carburetor.
12. Starter Rope: Pull rope for starting engine.
