8. Testing System

– Operation Mode – Section 8, Page 36

Pressing the key cycles thru the Operation screens

a. Verify Input reads correctly
b. Check Output.

i. Go to the Auto/Manual Control screen and select Manual Control.

ii. Adjust % PWR using the Up and Down keys and observe final control.

iii. Return to the Auto/Manual Control screen and select Automatic Control.

c. Make sure Control Loop is set to Control Enabled.

d. Tune Loop

–

i. Set Main Setpoint

– In the Operation Mode, continually press the key until

the Setpoint Value screen appears. Adjust Main Setpoint using the Up and
Down keys.

ii. Automatic Tuning

– Section 8.11, Page 70.

The automatic tune menu is used to engage pre-tune and/or self-tune to
assist setting up proportional bands and the integral and derivative time
values used by the control loops.

Pre-tune can be used to set PID parameters approximately. Self-tune (Pre-
tune needs to be run first) may then be used to optimize the tuning if
required. See the Tuning section on page 101 for more information.

FYI: Pre-tune can be set to run automatically after every power-up by
enabling Auto Pre-Tune (Not Recommended).

Steps to Automatic Tune



The Automatic Tuning Menu is entered from the Main Menu



Hold down and press to enter the Main Menu.



Press Up or Down to select the Automatic Tuning Menu.
