POWER CONNECTIONS

In a typical wireless configuration, the 5839 is powered by a

9V battery and remains in the inactive state until activated

by the press of any key.

If you want the keypad to remain active at all times,

providing audible and visual indications (without having to
be activated by a key press), the 5839 can be powered from

an external 110VAC input/9VDC output power pack. The

power pack must provide 100mA and have a female output

connector with a positive 9V center pin and a 0V shell.

These devices are generally available from consumer

electronics shops for powering various electronic appliances.
It is recommended that a 9V lithium battery be installed as
a backup power source when using the 110VAC/9VDC

power-pack.
