Servicing Your Honda

Battery

The battery is located under the right side of rear fender.

Removal

1. Make sure the ignition switch is OFF (

w

).

2. Remove the bolts and battery cover.
3. Release the ring and remove the rubber band.
4. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal lead from the battery first, 

then disconnect the positive (+) terminal lead.

5. Remove the battery from the battery box.
6. Charge the battery (see the following section), unless you have 

been driving regularly.

7. Store your battery in an easy-to-reach location off the floor, in an 

area protected from freezing temperature and direct sunlight.

8. Clean the battery box after removing the battery for storage. Dry 

the battery box.

9. Slow charge the battery (see following section) once every 30 

days.
