SERVICING YOUR GENERATOR
SEDIMENT CUP CLEANING
The sediment cup prevents water that may be in the fuel tank from
entering the carburetor. If the engine has not been run for a long time,
the sediment cup should be cleaned.
1. Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.
2. Turn the fuel valve lever to the OFF position.
3. Use a screwdriver to loosen the latch and open the left side
maintenance cover.
4. Remove the air cleaner cover and paper air filter (see page 47).
5. Disconnect the canister charge hose from the fuel tank and hose
joint.
6. Disconnect the breather hose and canister purge hose from the air
cleaner base.
7. Remove the 6 mm bolt and two 6 mm nuts, and remove the air
cleaner base.
