SIDE ELECTRODE

In order to service the spark plug, you will need a spark plug wrench
(commercially available).

J16CR-U (DENSO)

ZGR5A (NGK)

To ensure proper engine operation, the spark plugs must be properly
gapped and free of deposits.

An incorrect spark plug can cause engine damage.

If the engine has been running, let it to cool before servicing the spark
plug.

Remove the spark plug caps.

Clean any dirt from around the spark plug bases.

Use a spark plug wrench to remove the spark plugs.

Visually inspect the spark plugs. Discard them if the insulator is
cracked or chipped.

Measure the plug gap with a wire-
type feeler gauge.
Correct as necessary by carefully
bending the side electrode.
