GENERAL INFORMATION
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM (CALIFORNIA TYPE ONLY)
This model complies w i t h CARB evaporative emission requirements.
Fuel vapor f r o m the fuel tank is routed into the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister where it is absorbed and stored while
the engine is stopped. When the engine is running and the evaporative emission purge control solenoid valve is open,
fuel vapor
in
the EVAP canister is drawn into the engine through the throttle body.

TAMPERING WITH THE NOISE CONTROL SYSTEM IS PROHIBITED: Federal law prohibits, or Canadian provincial law pro-
hibits the following acts or the causing there of: The removal o r rending inoperative by any person, other than for the pur-
poses o f maintenance, repair or replacement, of any device or element o f design incorporated into any vehicle for the purpose
of noise control prior t o its sale or delivery t o the ultimate customer or while
it is i n use; or
the use o f any vehicle after such
device or element o f design has been removed or rendered inoperative
by
any person.
AMONG THOSE ACTS PRESUMED TO CONSTITUTE TAMPERING ARE THE ACTS LISTED BELOW:
1. Removal of, or puncturing o f the muffler, baffles, header pipes or any other component which conducts exhaust gases.
2. Removal of, or puncturing of any part o f the intake system.
3. Lack o f proper maintenance.
4. Replacing any moving parts of the vehicle, or parts of the exhaust or intake system, w i t h parts other then those specified
b y the manufacturer.
