Q. How is the lumbar support pad positioned?
A.
Place your buttocks as far back into the Backrest Support as possible. Lean forward and insert the lumbar
support pad horizontally across your lower back, above your belt line. Lean back so the hollow in the lower
back is firmly supported. Whatever feels comfortable is right for you.
Helpful Hint: To prevent the loss of your lumbar support pad, we recommend you position it inside the
backrest’s cover. Simply separate the fastener at the back of your backrest and place the lumbar support
pad inside the cover towards the front of the backrest. Again, position it where it feels comfortable. Reseal
the fastener.
Q. Are there any other uses for the lumbar support pad?
A.
Yes, there are a variety of uses for the lumbar support pad:
• Use it as a bolster behind the ObusForme by HoMedics Backrest Support to reduce seat depth of chairs
and sofas.
• Try it on its own for additional comfort and support in any chair.
• Try using it as a headrest when using the Highback Backrest Support.
Q. How do I adjust the internal inflatable lumbar support system in the CustomAIR®?
(Not applicable to all models)
A. INFLATE:
Rest your lower back against the CustomAIR. Pump the INFLATION VALVE located on the back
bottom, right-hand side. Use your fingers to pump the INFLATION VALVE while gripping the front bottom,
right-hand side of the CustomAIR with the thumb of your right hand. From full deflation, there are
approximately 50 comfort positions for the internal inflatable lumbar support system. When you have
reached the most comfortable position for your back, simply stop pumping. The level of air in the lumbar
support will remain fixed indefinitely until changed.
DEFLATE:
Lean your lower back against the CustomAIR and fully deflate it by pressing the DEFLATION
VALVE located on top of the INFLATION VALVE, on the back bottom, right-hand side of the CustomAIR.
Q. How do I clean the Backrest Support?
A.
The ObusForme by HoMedics Backrest Support cover is made of synthetic materials. It’s easy to clean with
a mild soap and a sponge, damp cloth, or soft brush. Do not rub the cover excessively or place it in a washing
machine. The cover can be removed and hand washed in cool water. Hang to dry.
To smooth out wrinkled fabric, remove the backrest’s cover and iron it on low heat.
Helpful Hint: To increase the air circulation in your backrest, you may remove the thin plastic layer that lies
between the foam and the cover. Simply separate the fastener at the back of your backrest, remove the cover,
tear off the plastic layer, and replace the cover.
