Disconnect the machine from the power supply before maintenance or other
activities.
Never use the power cord to transport the machine or pull it around.
Do not leave the running machine unattended. Always switch off the machine
and wait until the drill stands still before leaving the workplace.
Remove all accessories and tools from the machine before you switch it on.
Use only quality drills that match with the requirements of the machine
Deflected, defect or worn drills have to be replaced immediately.
Blunt drills have to be sharpened or replaced.
Blunt drills highly increase the danger of kickback!
Assure yourself that the drill is correctly mounted.
Do not fix workpieces by hand, instead only use the workpiece clamp.
N material removal, no adjustments or other activities when drill is rotating.
Do not position your hands near the rotating drill or in a way that they could
slip into the drill line.
Check the workpiece for nails, clamps and other material!

Security devices of the LBM 220
ON/OFF Switch with yellow emergency off cover.
Drill chuck protection cover. It is strictly forbidden to operate the machine without
the cover being mounted porperly.
Thermo motor switch. Shuts off the motor automatically if it overheats due to over-
loading, misuse or insufficiencies in the power supply.

Residual Risks
The operation of the LBM 220 incorporates a certain residual risk even if you follow every se-
curity and operation instruction.
Hazard of serious injuries of the hand/fingers by the rotating drill, especially as a result
of kickback!
Hearing disorders, if the ear protection of the operator is insufficient.
Hazard of injury due to cracking workpiece and catapulted workpiece parts. To protect
your eyes from this kind of injury wear certified protective goggles.
Treated wood may contain dangerous and/or harmful chemicals. These might be
breathed in together with wood dust. Hazard of damaging your respiratory system.
Always wear a breath mask when working with treated wood materials.
You can reduce dramatically the probability of an injury by obeying all security, operation and
maintenance rules.
