Synchro Edit Procedure When VCR1 is Recording
Turn the power on to both VCRs and the TV.
Insert the cassette you want to copy into VCR2.
On VCR2, press PLAY. Locate the place on the tape where you want to begin
copying, then press PAUSE.
Insert a cassette (with its safety tab intact) into VCR1. Put this VCR in RECORD-
PAUSE mode, and press AVX to put it in LINE mode.
Press DISPLAY on VCR2 (the playback VCR) to select the mode display off. The
mode display will no longer appear on TV screen, if VCR2 is operated.
Press PAUSE on VCR2 (the playback VCR) to start the recording. Both tapes will
start together.
Press PAUSE again on VCR2 when you want to stop. Both VCRs will pause.
Now fast-forward or rewind the tape in VCR2 to find the next segment you want to
copy.
Put VCR2 into PLAY-PAUSE mode and press PAUSE again - recording will
continue.
Press the STOP buttons on both VCRs when you are finished.
This procedure won't leave index marks unless you press STOP then REC between
sections recorded (more about index marks on pages 40 and 43).
Programmable Synchro Edit
Hookup when VCR1 is Recording
Hook up the two VCRs and the TV as shown on page 66.
Connect the synchro cable from EDIT IN on VCR1 to EDIT IN/OUT on VCR2. (see
page 71)
Turn the power on both VCRs and the TV, and select channel for VCR use.
Insert the cassette you want to copy into VCR2.
Set AI switch to SHARP, play tape a little to adjust tracking on VCR2.
Select mode display off on VCR2.
Insert a cassette (with its safety tab intact) into VCR1. Press AVX to put it in LINE
mode.
Programming Your Synchro Edit
While aiming the remote control at the VCR, press the GUIDE and then press 3 on
the remote. The following menu appears:
1. Select the start point of the program that you want to copy. You can locate the
