3.5 Traction drive
3.5.1 Drive principle
The mount for the saw head on the floor saw trolley incorporates gear wheels that mesh
with the saw head advance motion drive. The advance motion is transferred to the rear
wheels of the floor saw trolley by way of a chain and freewheel clutch.
When the freewheel clutch is engaged, the advance motion of the floor saw can be
regulated by the remote control unit.
When the freewheel clutch is disengaged, the advance motion can be controlled manually
by pushing the floor saw trolley.

The clutch controlling the trolley traction drive (saw advance) is actuated by a foot-
operated lever (freewheel lever).
When the lever is in the left-hand position (as seen by the operator), the drive is
disengaged and the floor saw trolley can be pushed by hand at any time.
When the lever is in the right-hand position (as seen by the operator), the traction drive is
engaged and the floor saw trolley is propelled by the saw advance motor.
