2.3 Grounding
Grounding is not only a measure to release the overvoltage and overcurrent caused by lightning as soon as possible, but
also for personal safety. Select the proper method to ground your switch according to the installation environment.
Note
DS-3E0108P-E has no grounding terminal. So if your switch is DS-3E0108P-E, skip this part.
With the grounding bar
If a grounding bar is available at the installation site, use either of the following installation methods to ground the switch.
A. Connect the switch to the grounding bar directly.
Procedure
Step 1
: Connect one end of the grounding cable to the binding post on the grounding bar.
Step 2
: Connect the other end of the grounding cable to the grounding terminal and fasten the screw.
Take DS-3E0326P-E/M as an example
B. Connect the switch to another grounded device.
Procedure
Step 1
: Connect one end of the grounding cable to the grounding terminal of a grounded device and fasten the screw.
Step 2
: Connect the other end of the grounding cable to the grounding terminal and fasten the screw.
