Definition of terms
The following terms are used throughout the ERGO-S User Manual and may be unfamiliar to some operators.

baud rate
The transmitting speed measured in bits per second.
hamming distance
A measurement of data transmission safety. The amount of failures in the data stream which has
to occur during the transmission in order to create a wrong signal. A low hamming distance means
that the test is not very sensitive to data transmission errors and could potentially be unsafe. A high
hamming distance means that the system is very sensitive and could potentially be unreliable due
to potential noise interference.
