pressurised canister spray system
Introduction
The
hertalan ks
205 pressurised canister spray system is a ready for use contact adhesive spray
system. In conjunction with a hose and spray gun the adhesive can be sprayed directly without
necessity of a compressor or power supply. For correct and safe working with the
hertalan ks
205
pressurised canister spray system please read this guideline carefully.
Before use
−
Read the Technical Note and the Material Safety Data Sheet of
hertalan ks
205 pressurised canister
spray system.
−
Be certain that all components of the spray system, canister, hose and spray gun, are free of
damage and have no defects.
Connecting hose and spray gun
−
Connect the spray gun to the hose. Be sure that the coupling nut is tightened correctly and firm,
so there can be no leakage of adhesive.
−
Completely close the control knob of the spray gun.
−
Connect the hose to the valve of the canister. Be sure that the coupling nut is correctly fitted to
prevent leakage of adhesive.
−
Open the valve of the canister slowly, but completely and check for any leakage.
Product usage
−
Directly before use, shake or roll the canister for at least 30 seconds for homogenizing the content
to achieve a regularly spray pattern.
−
Using the control knob of the spray gun, adjust the supply of adhesive and spray pattern as
desired.
−
After use, completely close the control knob of the spray gun. The valve on the canister should
stay open until the canister is empty and/or has to been replaced.
−
After spraying, leave any adhesive residue at the nozzle to dry. Remove this before the next use of
the spray system. Don’t use sharp objects!
−
The nozzle can be cleaned with acetone or white spirit.
Warning
Never fully unscrew the control knob of the spray gun (standard), it has no end-lock and
the adhesive then will escape uncontrollably.
Exchange of canister
−
Empty the canister and hose until there is no adhesive (only propellant) coming out.
−
Close the valve on the canister completely.
−
Disconnect the hose from the canister, keep the spray gun open (be aware of adhesive residues
coming out) so there will be no pressure build up in the hose.
−
Close the control knob of the spray gun completely as soon as the hose is disconnected from the
canister.
−
Connect the hose with spray gun immediately onto a new canister and open the valve of the
canister slowly and completely.
Disposal of empty canister
−
Open the valve of the old canister to release any remaining pressure. Be aware that adhesive
residue can come out. Do this preferably outside or in a well ventilated space.
−
Leave the canister for at least 24 hours with opened valve so the pressure inside will be reduced
completely.
−
Smash the weak spot (on top of canister, by the valve) so any solvent residue can evaporate and
the canister can be disposed as scrap metal.
