5.2 GETTING READY FOR MMA WELDING
•
Connect the earth cable terminal to the negative socket (16) inside the wire spool compartment of
the unit (check for correct polarity for the electrode you are going to use, refer to the information
on its box).
•
Connect the working cable terminal to the positive socket (17) inside the wire spool compartment
of the unit (check for correct polarity for the electrode you are going to use, refer to the informa-
tion on the electrodes’ box).
•
Select Stick function thru the Selector Switch (4) on the front panel.
•
Switch the unit on thru the ON/OFF switch (10).
•
Set welding current thru the potentiometer on the front panel (5).
The here below table gives some suggestions of the type of electrode for the different welding
current settings.

1.
Green LED is ON, it means that the unit is powered; it blinks during start-up or if supply voltage
is too high.
2.
Yellow LED ON means over-temperature alarm.
3.
Red LED means Over-voltage or output over-current alarm.
4.
Welding Mode Selector Switch:
• MMA Welding (Stick);
• automatic MIG/MAG Welding (Mig Auto);
• manual MIG/MAG Welding (Mig Man).
5. Regulation
Potentiometer:
• in MMA, adjusts the value of the welding current;
• in manual MIG/MAG, adjusts the wire speed value;
• in automatic MIG/MAG, adjusts the value of the wire speed in accordance to the thickness of
the piece to be welded.
6. Regulation
Potentiometer:
• in MMA is not active
• in manual MIG/MAG, adjusts the value of the arc voltage (no load), ranging from 10 to 25V.
in automatic MIG/MAG, allows the manual adjust of the welding voltage.
7.
Earth Cable and Clamp;
8.
MIG / MAG torch (in No Gas Welding change the polarity of the Euro socket using the appropriate ter-
minals located inside the wire spool compartment above the wire feeder).

14. Slope Up Regulation Potentiometer.
15. Burn Back Time Regulation Potentiometer (B.B.T.).
16. Negative Polarity Change Socket:
• connection of the earth cable terminal for MMA Welding and for MIG/MAG Welding,
• connection of the torch cable terminal for No Gas Welding.
17. Positive Polarity Change Socket:
• connection of the electrode holder cable terminal (not supplied) for MMA Welding and of the
torch cable for MIG/MAG Welding,
• connection of the earth cable terminal for No Gas Welding.
