Installation and Operating Instructions
5.0
Final start-up
Following checks need to be done:
– Check intended use of fan
– Check if fan is securely mounted
– Check adequate fixing
– Check all parts are secure, especially screws, nuts, grille for proper fixing
– Check if safety equipment is mounted professionally.
– Check if accessories (pipe clamp connectors, attenuator etc.) are mounted professionally.
– Protection against accidental contact
– Remove assembly residuals and foreign objects from the ventilation area.
– Check if impeller runs freely!
Start operation only if a protection against accidental contact with impeller is guaranteed.
– Check sealing of the connection cable and tight clamp of the cable wires.
– Check if cable gland is tight.
– Compare mains supply with nameplate on the fan
– Operation:
⇒
The fan must run smoothly at each speed.

Cleaning and maintenance
All work may only be carried out by a qualified person. All relevant safety regulation, national standards and
norms are to be adhered to!
Make sure before the cleaning that the unit is isolated from the mains and is secured against restarting with
an isolator switch!
– Impeller must stand still
– Clean unit only with a damp cloth
– Excessive deposit of dirt, dust, grease and other materials on the impeller, motor and between casing and impeller is
to be avoided and has to be prevented by periodical cleaning.
– For maintenance purposes inspection doors and access openings must be provided in the duct system in a suitable
place.
– The motors have maintenance-free, long lasting, greased ball bearings.
Provided that the device takes over a supply-technically important function, a maitenance has to be carried out in
intervals of max. 6 months, in case of longer standstill at restart.

Indications – Disturbance origins
Triggering of motor overheat protection (TK) can indicate
– build up of dirt, hard running impeller and/or ball bearing failure
– too high air flow temperature
– Electronic failure
Abnormal noises can mean
– worn out ball bearings
– bad vibration isolation to other buildings and ducting systems
Vibration can originate from
– unbalanced or dirty impellers
– insufficient vibration isolation from buildings and ducting systems
Extreme reductions in performance can occur
– if resistance to air stream through ducting and accessories (grilles, shutters, filters etc.) is higher than designed
