Activation / deactivation:
Frequent switching on and off of EC fans can be carried out via the 0-10 V control input by switching off the control
signal to 0 V. This applies to operation with an external potentiometer or external 0-10 V signal from the building
management system. Switching off is alternatively also possible via a release input, depending on the type. This is
gentle on the electronics and ensures a long service life. If this is not easy to realise, e.g. when operating with an
internal potentiometer, it can also be done by switching off the mains supply. In general, a time interval of at least
120 seconds must be observed when switching the mains off/on.
35 Terminal box
The terminal box can break if it is not properly installed.
The screws of the cover are tightened to a maximum of 0.8 Nm.
The lugs (1) in the lower part of the terminal box serve as spacers, which can deform with a intense pressure. The relief
gap (2) for an optimal sealing effect is then no longer available (3), if the seal is pressed too hard, the cover and the
housing can become deformed, this pressure can lead to breakage.

DANGER
The fan must be isolated from the mains power supply and secured against being switched on again before
all maintenance and installation work or before opening the terminal compartment!
– The electrical connection and commissioning must only be carried out by qualified electricians according to the
information in the terminal box / isolator switch and the attached wiring diagrams.
– All relevant standards, safety regulations (e.g. DIN VDE 0100), as well as the technical connection conditions of
energy suppliers must be adhered to!
– An all-pole mains switch / isolator switch is mandatory for installation sizes 180 to 250!
– The casing must be dismantled for electrical connection for sizes 180 to 250 in the terminal box version.
– Network configuration, voltage and frequency must be consistent with the type plate information.
– In principle, the motors are wired in the clockwise field of rotation for clockwise rotation (see direction of rotation
arrow).
– Protective conductors, including additional equipotential bonding, must be properly installed!
– Check the waterproofing of the connection cable and tight clamping of the wires.
– The insertion of the supply line must be carried out by specialists! The connection line in the terminal box/ isolator
switch (IP 65) must compensate for the potential fan vibrations.
If a residual current circuit breaker is installed in the supply line of the EC fan, the residual current circuit breaker
must have the following technical features:
Type A or B with a rated differential current of 30 mA.
The EC fan has a leakage current of <= 3.5 mA, calculated according to DIN EN 50178 image 4.
If a residual current circuit breaker is installed in the supply line of the EC fan, the residual current circuit breaker
must have the following technical features:
Type B or B+ with a rated differential current of 30 mA.
The EC fan has a leakage current of <= 3.5 mA, calculated according to DIN EN 50178 image 4.
ATTENTION:
The EC fan is exclusively designed for fixed connection, the connection via plug is not permitted.
Installation accessories for the terminal box/isolator switch must meet the requirements of IP 65.
