the fuel system. If the gasoline in your engine deteriorates during storage, you may need to have
the carburetor and other fuel system components serviced or replaced. The fuel can not be in
the engine longer than 14 days. If you leave it there longer it can cause damages on the engine,
these damages are not covered in the warranty. The addition of a fuel stabilizer to gasoline can
extend the life of fuel.
The following steps should be taken to prepare machine for storage.
1. Empty the petrol tank with a suction pump after the last working of the season.
WARNINGG!
B
Do not drain the petrol in closed rooms, in close proximity of open fire,
etc. Do not smokeG! Petrol fumes can cause explosion or fire.
2. Start the engine and let it run until it has used up all remaining petrol and stalls.
3. Remove the spark plug. Use an oilcan to fill approx. 20 ml recommended motor oil into
the combustion chamber
(fig. 33)
. Operate the starter to evenly distribute the oil in
the combustion chamber. Replace the spark plug.
4. Replace spark plug.
5. Replace engine oil.
REMOVAL FROM STORAGE
Check your engine as described in the BEFORE STARTING section of this manual.
If the fuel was drained during storage preparation, fill the tank with fresh gasoline. If you keep
a container of gasoline for refueling, be sure it contains only fresh gasoline. Gasoline oxidizes
and deteriorates over time, causing hard starting and clogging.
If the cylinder was coated with oil during storage preparation, the engine will smoke briefly at
startup. This is normal.
FUEL STORAGE
• Store the gasoline only in special can, otherwise there is a risk of fuel contamination.
• Never store engine in vicinity of stoves, ovens, water heaters with pilot light, contingently
other devices which can produce sparks.
• If you use contaminated gasoline there is a risk of irregular engine running or its damage.
• Store minimum quantity of the fuel which you can use to 14 days. Do not use fuel older
than 14 days.
DEVICE-SPECIFIC STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Store the machine in a dry, clean and frost-protected place, out of reach of unauthorized
persons.
2. Cover unit with a suitable protective cover that does not retain moisture. Do not use sheet
plastic as a dust cover. A nonporous cover will trap moisture around the mower, promoting
rust and corrosion.
3. Keep the machine in good condition, if necessary change warning and instruction labels on
the machine.
4. Clean and maintain the machine before storage. Failure to correct a problem before
operation can cause malfunction in which you can be seriously hurt or killed.
5. Clean and grease the lawn mower carefully as described above under “LUBRICATION
INSTRUCTIONS”.
6. Carefully clean machine parts and accessories after each use (see Maintenance and cleaning
instructions). This will prevent the formation of mold.
