6.1
Isolate the unit from the electrical supply.
6.2
Check the water temperature from a hot tap, and run until cold.
6.3
Turn off the water supply to the unit at the servicing valve.

Drain the unit by opening a outlet hot tap and removing the drain nut on the
underside. Take care as the water from the drain pipe may be very hot.
6.5
Slacken off the cable grip screws in the terminal cover, remove the four fixing screws
and remove the terminal cover.

Disconnect the supply cable from the heating element and undo the four heater plate
retaining nuts.

Remove the heater plate. If difficulty is experienced in breaking the joint between the
heater plate and and water container, screw two OBA (or M6) screws into into the holes
marked F in figure 5.
6.8
Check the settings of the thermostat and thermal cut-out on the new heater plate.
6.9
Re-assemble in reverse order, taking care to use the new gasket but do not fit the
terminal cover.
6.10
Refit the drain nut and turn on the water. Check for leaks.
6.11
Refit the terminal cover.
6.12
When water runs from the hot tap, close the tap and turn on the electrical supply.
