Installation

Remove the four mounting
screws located at each
corner of the metal plate on
the back of the reader.

Install the reader in the mounting bracket
with two of the screws re-moved in Step 1.
The screws should not be over-tight.
Note; not all machines require brackets.
Please check with Heartland Micropayments
customer service department for bracket part
numbers.
Preparation
“X” model machines use_0LFUR3D\PHQWV SLIM-MDC-MC reader with a full
plastic enclosure designed to fit in the coin vault area of the machine’s meter case.
Although the same reader and installation kit are required for all X-model
ma-chines, a different mounting bracket is used for single, stacked and front-load
equipment. You should ensure that you have the correct bracket for the specific
machine type.
In addition to the card reader, the kit should also contain the MDC wiring harness
and, small “Reader Present Jumper”, and all required mounting hardware.
Al-though there are significant differences between the washer and dryer control
boards, the connectors on the board and installation components are the same.
Please note that without the Reader Present Jumper the machine’s control board
will not recognize the card reader and will fail to operate. This is true for all
varieties of MDC equipment.
